Veritas’ CPR Basic and Advanced Life Support certification courses are available to VECCS members for a 25% discount. The CPR: Basic Life Support (BLS) course teaches the evidence-based clinical BLS guidelines developed by the RECOVER Initiative (acvecc-recover.org). This 5 RACE Approved CE credit course is available to VECCS members for $221 (originally $295).
The Advanced Life Support (ALS) course picks up where CPR: Basic Life Support finished, covering the rest of the RECOVER CPR algorithm. After completing both BLS and ALS courses, you'll be fully versed in the CPR algorithm. Please note, the ALS course can be taken for CE credit. However, in order to attain certification in ALS, the BLS course must be fully completed. The ALS course is 3.5 RACE Approved CE credits and is available for $154.88 for VECCS members (originally $206.50).
VECCS members must enter the "Members Only " section of the VECCS web page to obtain the Discount Code for this special offer. Once you are logged into the Members Only section click on "Member Benefits".
The RECOVER Initiative has resulted in completely updated resuscitation guidelines that were arrived at through a collaborative effort between ACVECC and VECCS involving a year of intensive study, literature reviews, research and consensus building by over 100 diplomates from ACVECC, ACVA, ACVIM and other specialties. A full description of the RECOVER project findings with all associated manuscripts are in the June 2012 supplemental issue of JVECC which can be accessed by clicking on "Recover CPR Initiative" link.
These concepts are illuminated in these dynamic on-line training courses available on Veritas. The content is based on the new guidelines and authored by Daniel J. Fletcher, PhD, DVM, Assistant Professor of Emergency and Critical Care at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and Co-Chair of the RECOVER Initiative; and Elizabeth Rozanski, DVM, DACVIM, DACVECC, and Associate Professor at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine.
Participants who complete BLS and ALS will receive a certificate from ACVECC officially documenting their certification.
