The Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society (VECCS) is the premier organization promoting and supporting emergency and critical care issues for the veterinary profession and the public at large. Through programs such as facility certification, they are helping to identify and elevate the standards of care we provide. This also helps to educate the public about what capabilities are available and the level of care they should expect to receive. The bi-monthly journal (JVECC) helps me to stay on top of cutting edge research, case reports, and specialty reviews. The yearly conference (IVECCS) is outstanding and beats everything else out there! From top rated speakers, hands-on laboratories, interactive limited enrollment sessions, and the networking opportunities, IVECCS simply can’t be beat. The educational opportunities don’t stop there. From monthly online webinars to their spring symposium in international locales, education is a top priority. For me, there is never a question of the value of my VECCS membership, but rather how can I make enough time to take advantage of such great opportunities.
