VECCS Produces Successful IVECCS 2020 | A Virtual Experience
Amid the global CoVID 19 Pandemic, the Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society hosted their first-ever virtual conference with record-breaking IVECCS attendance.
After a strategic pivot in early June, VECCS produced an outstanding virtual conference, September 12-14, potentially heralding a path for future VECCS events. The event closed with 27% higher registration than any previous IVECCS event and resulted in the society’s membership increasing to over 7,000.
In June, the VECCS Board of Directors, Committees and Staff came together to decide the fate of IVECCS 2020, the society’s 26th International Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Symposium, which was set to be held in St. Louis, MO September 12-16. Considering the safety and best interests of all involved they decided to take the conference to a virtual platform allowing their registrants quality continuing education from the safety of their homes.
VECCS was pleased to receive consistent and notable feedback from many attendees, some of which they have shared below.
Thank you for doing this! Great live classes so far, and I love this is on demand so I can still watch the live classes I had to miss or review something again after the fact. I love in person classes, but this made the conference accessible to so many more people who can’t usually afford it. –Laura Lucille Hudgens
Hiya guys, I just wanted to say well done on the virtual conference concept. While I would have much preferred to come and visit from Australia as I have done in other years, this concept really worked out well too… Well done and thank you.

Great job making it virtual this year! –Dani Merriss
